Review of Grand Finals Concert at Palm Beach Opera
April 11, 2011
Countertenor John Holiday gave an outstanding rendition of Handel’s
Crude furie degli orridi abissi from
Serse. The countertenor dazzled with the clarity and purity of his tone. It is a large voice for a countertenor. The precision of his cadenzas and passage work were crisp and sparkling. Holiday was awarded the fifth prize.

Review Of "Something Olde, Something New II"
February 12, 2011
"Bourbon Baroque performed with finesse, in arrangements characterized by their good taste. They were joined by countertenor John T. Holiday, Jr. for several pieces. Mr. Holiday’s singing was simply breathtaking, provoking gasps of appreciation from many in the audience and warm, ecstatic applause during curtain calls. Beginning with a magnificent reading of Strike the viol from Come ye sons of art away, and through several other pieces, his performance was most impressive." - Keith Waits of

Let’s Catch You Up:
The past few months have been kind of crazy, but - alas - I survived! In the world of opera, we young artists have just finished our whirlwind tour of auditions for summer and year-long apprentice programs. Although it was exhausting, every moment of it was worth it. I am proud to announce that I have accepted an assignment with Santa Fe Opera as an apprentice in their 2011 Santa Fe Opera Apprentice Singer Program. From June through August, I will be there covering the role of Corrado in Antonio Vivaldi’s Griselda - training and working with some of the most respected conductors, directors, and singers in the classical world. Currently, I am in the production week of George F. Handel’s Messiah, and it is going well.
So, there you have it! There is much to be done, and I have always enjoyed a challenge. Because the site is still being updated, please continue to check back often for media updates and contact me if you have some questions. I would like to thank Scott Allen, the creative force behind this website, for an outstanding job. It is my prayer that you will remember the reason for the season, and give something to someone who perhaps may not receive any other gift but the one you give. Have a happy holiday season and a very prosperous new year!
